According to religious teachings, sustenance is divided into two categories, material and spiritual, and God has acknowledged in the Qur'an that He takes care of it on his behalf. This divine promise has caused the role of man in this field, especially the scope of material sustenance, to be disputed; The conflict between the traditions passed down from the innocents, especially the statements of Hazrat Ali (AS) about these kinds of verses, has made this controversy more extensive; What is the fact that, in some of the sayings of the Holy Prophet, the "effort" of a person is called the axis of reaching a day; And in other parts, the realization of sustenance is solely dependent on "trust" in God, and any effort in this direction has been considered futile; The inconsistency of the two categories of the mentioned narrations makes clear the necessity of thinking about it. The findings obtained from the analysis-library method show that, although the single use of each of the two mentioned elements and even not using them, in some cases, makes a person satisfied; But the optimal solution on the way to reach the destined day seems to be the combined application of these two components. In other words, since God's promises are fulfilled from two spiritual and material bases, therefore "trust", the spiritual dimension; And "effort" covers the material dimension of the fulfillment of this promise, and thus, the idea of conflict between the words of Hazrat Ali(a.s.) in this regard is resolved.
