Imam Hussein (AS) as one of the great divine reformers who entered the field of social and political action and took a great step towards realizing the Islamic state with his movement, paid special attention to the issue of Mahdism and the Imam of the Time (AS) and introduced his movement as a platform for realizing the ideal Mahdist state. Since there is a close connection between the Ashura Husseini movement and the global Mahdist movement, it is necessary to study the hadiths of Imam Hussein (AS) in relation to Imam Mahdi (AS) in a precise and systematic manner and to reexamine Imam Hussein's (AS) attitude on this issue. In this research, an attempt has been made to systematically study the hadiths of Imam Hussein (AS) using the content analysis method as one of the interdisciplinary research methods in order to gain a brief understanding of the true position and important characteristics of Imam Mahdi (AS). Therefore, in three steps, we first analyzed the hadiths and extracted the basic themes, then by explaining the hadiths, we identified the organizing themes, and finally by combining and analyzing the hadiths, we subjected the comprehensive themes to descriptive analysis. The research findings show that out of a total of 438 hadiths quoted in the Encyclopedia of Imam Hussein (AS), 87 hadiths were related to the subject of Imamate and Mahdism, and the analysis of their content led the researcher to identify 41 basic themes and 6 organizing themes.
