The subject of Satan's dominance is one of the issues stated in a number of Quranic verses and Islamic hadiths. To refer to the dominance of Satan on humans, the term "touch" is used in traditions. For example in a hadith attributed to the Prophet, quoted by Abu Hurairah, it is mentioned; "None of the children of Adam is born, unless Satan touches him when he is born". According to the literally prevailing meaning of "touch", which refers to the physical contact between two things, the word "touch" refers to the Satan's absolute dominance over all mankind since infancy.
This comprehension of Abu Hurairah's hadith, is in conflict the verses of the Qur'an and other hadiths that deny Satan's dominance over the Prophets and the devotee servants of God. The approach of the commentators to resolve the conflict is divided into three types: Acceptance and correction approach, semantic justification approach and weakening and rejection approach. The semantic justification approach as the standard theory, along with accepting the issue of hadiths, by rejecting the approaches of forgery and weakness of the hadith and the refusal of the apparent meaning in the viewpoint of acceptance and correction, has brought the verses and hadiths together and presented a more acceptable view and has resolved the apparent conflict between verses and this hadith.
In fact, the meaning of "touch" in these hadiths does not mean the physical contact, but the hope of seduction and temptation of each human child by Satan since his birth, and there is no connection between the "touch" in this hadith and the domination of the Satan over human children since childhood.
